Tracheostomy is a life-saving but high-risk procedure that requires precise technical skills, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary coordination. Current training tools rely largely on static manikins that do not reflect patient variability, dynamic airway physiology, or real-time feedback. This project will explore the design and prototyping of an AI-enabled digital twin for tracheostomy training and care management. The digital twin will pair a virtual airway model with physical interaction data to simulate key aspects of tracheostomy procedures and ongoing care, such as suctioning, tube changes, and airway management. Student teams will work on developing a conceptual and functional prototype that integrates patient anatomy models, basic physiologic simulation, and data capture from user interactions. The system will be designed to support performance feedback, risk awareness, and adaptive learning while remaining scalable for future research and educational use. Expected deliverables include: • System architecture and design documentation • A prototype digital twin environment with defined use cases • Integration of basic AI or analytics for performance feedback • User workflow and interface concepts for clinical training • Final technical report and project presentation
